The Southern Christian Leadership Conference was founded in 1957 to coordinate and support nonviolent direct action as a means of abolishing legalized segregation. Today, that founding purpose endures.
We empower communities, promote equality, and foster leadership through impactful programs, advocacy, and civic engagement — because the work of justice is never finished.
